Here I am again

For those of you who look at my blog, that would be one or two, I'M BAACK! It seems I have to relearn how to do this, and with my computer being so slow I don't think this entry will be so exciting.

My story for the day, other than getting the worst leg cramp of my life last night and my leg still hurts, will be Cody's spider story.

When trying to get Cody out of the bushes or anywhere he is not supposed to be we tell him there is spiders in there and they'll bite you. So...in effort to get out the door for work I was trying to get him to put his shoes on. Instead he found joy playing in the curtain.

It wasn't that I didn't see a spider; I just thought what I saw was a spot. So I told him,"Come here Cody mommy sees a spider..OOOooo look spider!"

So he exited the curtain, sat on my lap and repeated the word spider about 50 times. I succeeded in getting his shoes on and went in my room to put my own on. I can hear him still saying, "Spider...spider..."

Next thing I know he is standing next to me with THE SPIDER pinched between his fingers. He somehow though managed to just pinch his front legs and I could see his beady little eyes and the rest of his legs.

So I grabbed a sock and mashed him. Thankfully Cody was able to inform me that the spider could,"Bite you. Bite you." I said,"Yes spider will bite you."

Now for those of you mid westerners you may not think this spider thing is a big deal. But you don't have black widows lurking around your house. Or, big wolf spiders that Cody has already chased down the hallway trying to grab. I guess this is part of boy hood.

So something about Cody...

Since I have had A complaint that this is all about me...

Here is something about Cody.

Now when he eats his teeth can see what they are eating. He just got his eye teeth in, (ha ha get it.."see" what he's eating; eye teeth)making a total of 14 little chompers.

ALSO...He now says "Mama" just a bit more frequently. Why he didn't before you may ask? I was the one always at work during the prime hours of the day when he would be at home from daycare, so "Dada" was pretty much who he hung out with the majority of the time. Now, the tables have turned, and I am home alone with him when I get home from work.

To Give or Not To Give

First, I would like to get any tips for this blog stuff that I can get. I still really don't get it. Do I post under the "Today" or do I post under "Blair Bulletin" I don't get it.On with the "To Give or Not To Give."Now this is not to detier anyone from donating the wonderful gift of blood. But...There I was, a cold windy day. (Cold to me about 70; but the wind was blowing. For those of you who don't know the "Santa Ana Winds", it would be hard to grasp the annoyance of how windy it can get.)Our work has called the blood mobile out for a few trips for us to donate. I myself have given about 8-9 times in the past; so I know what to expect...so I thought. (I'll try to make my long story short.)Basically the girl who was taking my blood started complaining that my vein was too far off to the side and she didn't like doing those. Another girl came over, pointed out the vein immediately and offered to do it for her. She declined with the answer of, "Well I know where her vein is I just hate doing these." At this point I am repeatedly saying in my head, "Get up now! Run for your life! This won't be good." Instead I thought I would give her the benefit of the doubt, and just because her attitude stinks doesn't mean she should miss the experience of working with what she hates doing. The second she stuck the needle in I knew I was in trouble. Intense pain. I told her that something wasn't right and it hurt way more than it ever has. I apparently didn't know what I was talking about. She continued to mumble things under her breath with a "Well hang on!" The pain continued with each slide scrape and whatever she was doing. Finally she stopped for a second giving me a small window of relief when wham back at it again. The burning sensation took over my entire elbow and I had to yell at her to "STOP NOW!! IT BURNS!" Not once, but twice. Then of course, she really had an attitude and asked if I wanted her to get someone else to try my other arm. My answer..."NNNOOOO"So in the end, my diagnosis from the Blood Bank was that she hit and damaged a nerve. "This could take as much as three weeks to heal, but feel free to use whatever over-the-counter pain reliever of your choice to help with the pain." So here I am with a broke down arm, in pain. It is really crazy all the spots one little nerve can affect.

Here I am again! Only 4 months later!

So here I am again! I am still trying to figure this stuff out. Since I actually did something worth talking about this past weekend, I decided to write about it. (If there is anyone listening.)

Saturday morning I got up bright and early to play a softball tournament for work. (Some of you who may know my history of work softball may wonder why.) My body knew it was Saturday and that I should be at home vegging on the couch. I think a few other people were the same way.

Game 1: I lost track after the score got about 30-5. (5 being us.) We were playing Kaiser. EVERYONE was missing the ball. I think in that 90 minute game we had three innings and I only remeber getting up to bat once.

Game 2: Now since we were so greatly defeated in Game 1 we had to move right on to Game 2. This went much better for the team as a whole. First, I started out pitching. I made a good play at stopping a ball and throwing it to first. Then we switched pitchers and I moved to center field where I caught a pop fly, screamed really loud and proceeded to give the entire team high fives. Then...I was up to bat. I hit the ball and took off to first base...I must have blacked out because I can't remeber how but down to the ground I went with a bounce slide bounce and slide. (See picture above)By the time I rolled over the ump was in my face with a panicked look asking me if I was okay. Although I was called out, I did get two RBI's due to the fact that everyone was paying attention to me and not the people running home. I like to call it,"Taking one for the Team!" I now have the battle scares of a skinned elbow and knee to prove my devoted efforts to my team. So we ended up winning that game.

Game 3: Immediatly right after Game 2. And I was so dead tired at this point I dont remeber much, except that we lost and our day was done.

Here I am!

Well I have done it! Now lets see if I can keep this going. I'll have to do some tweeking later.
